Dzongsar is part of Derge county, an administrative sub-division of Sichuan Province

(Khandze Prefecture)

It is located four hours drive from the County town.
 


 

Dzongsar is between 3400 and 4000 metres above sea level. The valley is totally preserved. There are around 30 villages with a population of approximately 6000 people consisting of 70% farmers and 30% nomads.
